About the MD
In 2000, our Managing Director, Stuart Ireland, enrolled as a Reservist with the South African Police Service performing uniformed Crime Prevention duties in the Edenvale area in South Africa. In 2004, he joined the South African Police Service as a full-time serving member. It was not long after joining that he was commissioned to manage all Reservists at the Edenvale Police Station.
This included recruitment, attending Area Reservist meetings as well as planning duties and resources for each week for Reservists. In 2007, Stuart transferred to the K9 Unit in Johannesburg were between 2007 and 2016 trained and utilised dogs in the field for Patrol (attack), Explosives as well a Narcotics Detection. An opportunity in the private sector came knocking in April 2016 at a logistical company as a Loss Prevention Manager, which he took with enthusiasm knowing would broaden his expertise.
In 2017 he was headhunted internally to take over the Security and Loss Prevention at the same logistical company’s Supply Chain division. A relocation to the United Kingdom at the end of 2020 afforded Stuart the opportunity to learn another sector within Loss Prevention. He jumped at the chance to work for NEXT as a Loss Prevention Officer.
This was the perfect opportunity to understand retail from grassroots. With the different experience in various sectors, this has afforded Stuart the confidence to lead the company in a direction able to render a world-class service to all Loss Prevention Solutions’ clients.
